El Festival Shakespeare Buenos Aires fue creado en 2011 con el objetivo de establecer una cita anual entre el público argentino y los artistas e investigadores nacionales y extranjeros apasionados por la obra de William Shakespeare. Es un Festival único por su temática en América Latina y se suma a una propuesta que se desarrolla en importantes ciudades del mundo. El Festival presenta una amplia oferta de espectáculos nacionales y extranjeros, talleres y actividades recreativas. En su programación hay danza, música, cine y recreacionismo medieval, disciplinas que aportan una mirada más amplia y enriquecedora sobre la obra de William Shakespeare y su contexto histórico. Los espectáculos y actividades que se han programado tienen como objetivo que participen la mayor cantidad de vecinos, es por esto que abarcamos zonas turísticas y también barrios de trabajadores, salas de cine comercial, anfiteatros en parque públicos y circuitos para andar en bicicleta.

The Shakespeare festival in Buenos Aires was created with the objective of establishing an annual date between the Argentinean public, the artists, and national, also international researchers who are passionate about William Shakespeare´s plays. It is a unique Festival because of its topic in Latin America, and also because, it joins a proposal that has been developed in the most important cities on the world. Therefore, Buenos Aires, confirms, once again, why is mentioned as one of the capitals in the world with higher/bigger theater activities. Shakespeare Buenos Aires, not only covers theater activity, but also presents a great offer on National and International performances, workshops and recreational activities. In its program you will find dance, music, films and medieval recreation; disciplines that contribute to a wider and enriching look about William Shakespeare’s plays and historical context. Performances and activities that have been programmed entail making a large quantity of residents to participate: Buenos Aires Polo Circo and its Medieval village; Parque Centenario Amphitheater with lyrical performances and films; Recoleta Cultural Centre with theater plays and workshops; besides other theater plays that are presented in different independent theaters and the Shakespearean Bike Ride.
